If you’ve never tried goat’s milk soap, you might be wondering what makes it so different from the soap you find at the grocery store. The answer comes down to what’s actually in it — and what’s not.
What Is Cold Process Soap?
Cold process soapmaking is a traditional method where oils and lye are combined at room temperature (or slightly above) without applying external heat. This preserves the beneficial properties of the oils and, in our case, the naturally occurring nutrients in fresh goat’s milk.
Why Goat’s Milk?
Our Nigerian Dwarf goats produce milk that is naturally rich in vitamins A, C, D, E, and B-complex, as well as fatty acids and lactic acid. These compounds work together to gently cleanse your skin without stripping it of its natural moisture — making goat’s milk soap a favorite for people with sensitive, dry, or eczema-prone skin.
At Jersey Bird Homestead, we use fresh milk from our own health-certified herd in every batch. You can’t get more farm-to-skin than that.
What You Won’t Find in Our Soap
No synthetic detergents. No artificial preservatives. No mystery ingredients. Just simple, honest ingredients made with care right here on our southern New Jersey farm.
